Each PSET follows its module. Start after the module's notes and section walkthrough. Due dates, at 11:59 pm Pacific.
Try as many times as you want, low stress. You're welcome to work on these solo or in study groups, or in the CA sections, until the concepts click for you. How does scoring work?
Exam prep: PSETs are the best prep for the exams' MCQs, so retry them for your prep. Rough format and practice: CS145 Exam Prep
Late days
You have 2 PSET late days for the quarter, shared across PSETs 1–5.
Each late day adds exactly 24 hours to the posted 11:59 pm Pacific deadline, including weekends and holidays. Late days are not business days. Use one day each on two PSETs, or both days on one PSET.
Project late days cannot be used for PSETs. Submissions beyond your allowed extension receive no credit.
In case of extenuating circumstances, only the head CA can grant additional extensions. Please reach out through a private Ed post before the deadline, or as soon as you can if circumstances prevent that.
How does scoring work?
You're welcome to submit your answers after each sitting. We save every question you answer correctly. Your next attempt includes the questions you answered incorrectly or left unanswered. You can return as many times as you want.
Attempt 1: Answer 10 questions. You get 7 correct. Score: 7/50. 43 remain.
Attempt 2: Answer 15 of those 43 correctly. Score: 22/50. 28 remain.
Attempt 3: Answer 23 of those 28 correctly. Score: 45/50. 5 remain.
Your deadline, including any extension
Attempt 4: Before the exam, retake all 50 questions and score 33/50. Your PSET grade stays 45/50, your best score by your deadline.
Attempt 5: Retake all 50 questions again and score 42/50. Your PSET grade stays 45/50.
Keep practicing as often as you like, even after the deadline. We automatically apply your two PSET late days where they help your final grade most. Approved OAE extensions are handled separately. Attempts after your eligible deadline are practice only: they do not change or lower your grade. No extra steps are needed.
Self-Test Quizzes12 quizzes • no submission required
Use each quiz to check what stuck. Quizzes require no submission and do not affect your grade. Take them as you complete each topic to find concepts worth reviewing before a PSET or interview.
